What is metabolism? You might have heard before that we should build muscles to lose fat. Let's see precisely what that means. Food is physical energy. Our body converts it into chemical energy and stores it in our muscles when we eat it. The process by which our body turns drinks and food into energy is called metabolism . During this process, food and drink calories mix with oxygen and form energy. When we consume more energy than we use, our body stores it inside fat cells. Fat tissue is the storage of energy. The opposite of fat tissue is muscle tissue, and this is an actual functioning tissue that uses energy and micro and macro elements.
